Neil Patrick Harris Feels Sorry For Serving Amy Winehouse Platter At The 2011 Halloween Party
Neil Patrick Harris is very sorry about the platter he served at a Halloween party. Harris’ party took place in 2011, just a few months after Winehouse died of alcohol intoxication on July 23 of that year. The singer’s phony corpse, according to Variety, had a cigarette on its lips and a sign that read, “The Corpse of Amy Winehouse.”
Another note listed the contents of the platter, which included beef ribs, pulled pork, and chicken sausage. Neil Patrick Harris has apologized for serving a dish that was dressed to appear like late singer Amy Winehouse’s body at a 2011 Halloween party.
“A photo from a Halloween-themed party my husband and I hosted 11 years ago recently resurfaced,” Harris revealed in an exclusive statement to Entertainment Weekly. “It was regrettable at the time, and it remains so now. Amy Winehouse was a once-in-a-generation talent, and I apologize if this image caused you any pain.”
Who Is Neil Patrick Harris? Why He Feels Sorry
Neil Patrick Harris is an American singer, actor, writer, and television host, born and raised in New Mexico. He is known for playing many amazing characters and was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for best actor. Neil Harris is named one of the 100 Most Influential People in 2020, according to Time Magazine.
And it isn’t an exaggeration to say that his life is genuinely magical and throwing big parties is nothing of a major issue to them. In 2010, he and his actor partner David Burtka welcomed fraternal twins Gideon Scott and Harper Grace into the world.
After a photo of the platter went viral on social media, Harris was forced to issue a public statement, which was met with inevitable backlash. “A photo from a Halloween-themed party my husband and I hosted 11 years ago recently resurfaced,” Harris said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly. He says it was unfortunate back then, and it is unfortunate now. Amy Winehouse was a once-in-a-generation talent, and he also apologized, saying if it caused anybody pain then he is sorry.
Why Was The Twitter Post Deleted?
According to BuzzFeed News, actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s spouse Justin Mikita, who attended the party, originally published the photo of the platter in a now-deleted Twitter post. Neil Patrick Harris and Justin Mikita’s reps have been contacted by Insider.
