Valerie Bertinelli Divorces Tom Vitale, Citing “Irreconcilable Disagreements”
According to records obtained by Us Weekly, the 62-year-old Emmy winner filed documents in Los Angeles on Thursday, May 12. According to the filings, the One Day at a Time actress cited “irreconcilable problems” as the cause for the breakup, with the date of separation set for December 1.

Bertinelli filed for a formal separation from Vitale, who was 58 years old, in November 2021, after ten years of marriage. When the divorce was filed, Bertinelli also cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.
The Food Network star and the financial planner married in January of this year after many years of dating. Following the ceremony, Bertinelli expressed her delight at being able to finally refer to Vitale as her “husband” after their lengthy courting.
