The second season of Shadow and Bone has been confirmed by the show’s actors and creators after months of speculation. Tweeting a picture of his computer screen, Eric Heisserer wrote “S2” at the bottom of the screen and confirmed that the next season of Shadow and Bone had begun writing.
Many of the cast members from Shadow and Bone were also in attendance, expressing their delight at returning to the silver screen. Several cast members, including Zoya Nazyalensky, Jessie Mei Li, Archie Renaux, Inej Ghafa, Kit Young, Danielle Galligan, and Yuliia Shonska, turned to social media later that night to post videos honoring season 2 of the series.
Everything We Know About The Second Season
It’s not certain how many episodes there will be in the upcoming season, or if it will be another eight-episode installment like the first. Ben Barnes (General Kirigan) and Jessie Mei Li (Alina Starkov) will be returning, so fans need not worry.
Freddy Carter and Amita Suman, who played Kaz and Jesper in Six of Crows, will not reprise their roles in the upcoming season. However, it appears that many of the original cast members will return for this high-stakes journey across Ravka. The cast and crew are also returning.
All eight episodes based on Leigh Bardugo’s best-selling books were written by Bardugo, who has returned as an executive producer alongside Pouya Shahbazian, Dan Levine, Bardugo, Shawn Levy, and Dan Cohen, all of whom worked on the first season of Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (Darkest Minds).
The Release Date For Season 2 Of Shadow And Bone Has Been Set
You won’t be seeing Alina and her friends again until April 23, 2021, when the first season of Shadow and Bone premiered. Season 2 of Shadow and Bone will most likely launch in April of 2022 after the first season aired in April of 2021. The filming will begin on February 15 in Budapest, according to Deadline. If this is correct, then the show should be available on Netflix by the end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023.
As of 2019, the filming for the summer of 2020 has begun in Hungary. There are several similarities between The Witcher and The Witcher: The Third, both of which were shot in Budapest. A second season will reportedly be filmed there, as reported by Deadline. Heisserer recently spoke with Express.co.uk and other media outlets about what fans may anticipate from the upcoming second season of Shadow and Bone.
What To Expect In New Season
When asked how he felt about the project, he stated, “I’m pleased we’ve kept it at the forefront of everyone else’s minds through COVID.” “Even so, it’s still in the works. As of this writing, things are still moving forward.”
“The writers’ room is going strong on Season two—I’m not permitted to talk much about that, but there are more episodes planned for Shadow and Bone,” he continued.
